Mech Lab:

CAD, 3-D Printing, Robotics, and AI Engineering

Ages 12-High School | Offered at Littleton & Colorado Springs

All things tech!

IMG_1421.jpeg

Mech Lab is a hands-on design lab where students learn to think like engineers and build like makers. Using SolidWorks, they’ll design real parts and prototypes, then bring them to life through 3D printing, fabrication, and practical problem-solving. Along the way, students dive into robotics and AI prompt engineering to explore automation, rapid iteration, and how modern tools accelerate creativity and innovation. (Class formerly called Manufacturing)

Program Highlights

CAD (Computer Aided Design)

Use programs like SolidWorks and OrcaSlicer to design parts, pieces, and solutions in CAD.

3-D Printing

Students take CAD designs and put them to the test. Using materials science, students learn to print everything from benchy boats and tiny rocket-powered racecars to machine parts!

Robotics

We'll connect everything together and integrate mechanized functions to create robotic assemblies.

What materials do I need for class?

Safe attire looks like:

  • Long pants (jeans are fine!) NO shorts!

  • Sturdy closed-toe shoes (work boots are best). NO Crocs!

  • Long hair tied back

  • No loose jewelry

NO SYNTHETICS! This includes polyester and most athleticwear like leggings and performance tees. Plastics do not play nice with heat.

What clothing does my child need?

What is half-day vs. full day, and what is hybrid?

Watch THIS video to learn more. Your child will also need to be present for 90 hours or more each semester!
